Alexa Chung in Erdem
The Met Gala is basically my NBA playoffs. The stars and designers flaunt their most creative, avant-garde looks and I scroll through the internet trying to catch every detail and angle. China: Through the Looking Glass was the theme of the evening, but I’m surprised we didn’t see more extravagantly designed, Asian inspired looks. It seems like everybody held back. What we did see was a lot of sheer dresses with strategically placed embellishment and a sea of red dresses. I wish there were a few more risks taken, but overall everybody really did look amazing. (Side note – didn’t it used to be hard to get a ticket? It seemed like everybody was there last night and I’m going to be honest, I missed the exclusivity of the whole event.) Here are my top five looks of the night:
Alexa is one of my style icons and I’m obsessed with this feminine look! The printed pink tea length dress and sky blue shoes definitely qualifies this as a best dressed.
Alison Williams in Giambattista Valli
Red was a big trend last night and I just love fit of this dress as well as the simple black detailing.
Courtney Eaton in Dolce & Gabbana
The dramatic gold, gorgeous headpiece and tea length skirt is nothing short of amazing!
Diana Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture
The romantic hair and uniquely feminine outfit makes this one of my favorite looks.
Reese Witherspoon in Jason Wu
Reese went for a more classic look, but the amazing fit of that dress and her stunning hair and makeup make this a knockout look.
